Olive Jeanette Smith Born in 1868 in Mahaska County Iowa. Her father Edward O. Smith was born November 1830 in Indiana. Her mother Sarah E. Shelley was born December 1840, in Iowa. She went by the name of "Nettie"

Thomas Sherman Sheue was Born July 10^th, 1865 in Mahaska Iowa County. His father Martin Sheue was born May 1826 in Iowa. His Mother Mary (Spain) Haines was born about 1826 in Ohio.

In 1900 Nettie (Olive) and Thomas were living at the Sheue homestead in Peoria, Mahaska County Iowa. The farm they operated with Thomas's father Martin Sheue was just on the outskirts of Peoria. Also living with them were their children Lela Cloe Sheue , (their daughter age 10) who was attending school at the small two room school house, and Harry M. Sheue, (their son who is age four). Netties parents lived on a nearby farm.
