Introducing....

Briggs!

Ch. Bluemoon Comedy Briggs Field CGC!

Briggs is the newest addition to our family,
and he fit right in immediately!

Briggs is just the most awesome wonderful boy!

!

Rah Rah BRIGGS!!!

What a boy!
Sept 2. 2005 - Briggs earns his first Junior Hunter leg at his very first field entry!

got Spaniels?

Our amazing gorgeous boy finishes his Championship in a BIG WAY!
 Takes
Best of Breed over 3 Specials and then earns a pull in the Sporting Group!
 (12 June 2005)
  What a puppy!

Briggs was again handled by the wonderful team of Julie and Lauren Wickwire!  (Lauren shown above)  She took him into the Group ring and did a FABULOUS job!  Briggs was one of just 8 Sporting Dogs left in the ring, and the only puppy!  Several fantastic mulitple-group winning and even BIS dogs left the ring before Briggs!  WHOOOOO!

Below are some candid shots that Tracy took ringside during the Breed judging.
Please forgive the lighting and focus - arena lighting you understand.

Doesn't she
help him
look fantastic!

Briggs just adores Lauren and Julie!
You can see it in these photos -- "What do you want me to do now???"

Such a good boy!

Here's a photo of Daddy Red and Briggs being looked-over by the judge!
  What a tough decision!
I know, I know -- this photo is horribly out of focus and just a poor photo.... But lookie!
There's our boy in the GROUP ring!!!  Isn't that awesome!!!

And now?  Now Briggs gets to have more BIRD activities than BATH activities!  He's going to work in the field towards his JH, and in the other ring toward a CD.  After some growing up, he'll return to the conformation ring and KICK BUTT!

Here's Briggs after his Best of Breed win, sitting on Tracy's lap,
and playing with his new huge Crab toy that he picked out himself!

Flash!  Briggs takes Best of Winners BOTH DAYS at the Albany Chimtimi shows and earns his 2nd Major!
10 points and both majors now!

Doesn't he look FABULOUS!!

Big thanks to the Wickwires - especially handler extraordinaire Lauren - for showing Briggs that weekend, letting him crash at their place, and all unsupervised by me as I had to rush a sick Jubilee to our vet. (She's fine now)

(older Flash!) January 16, Briggs takes Winners Dog and
then Best of Opposite over a Special for a 4-point Major!
  Up to 5 points now!
Thanks Julie for handling him so fabulously at both clusters now!

Below is a photo from his first point at his very first show almost a month ago (sorry!) - is he just a handsome fella' or WHAT!

He was born 23 April 2004 and we cannot ever thank Dr. Roe and Gordie Froman
at BlueMoon Clumbers enough for letting
the most wonderful boy in the world come live with us!

Briggs is named after the original Briggs Field that the Detroit Tigers played in from 1895 until the new ballpark, Comerica Park, was built in 2000.  The stadium had many names during those 105 years, but was most fondly known as Briggs Field.

Briggs is a son of Red and Phoenix,
so he is a half-sibling to our puppies!

Briggs, Stella, and Jubilee all earn their CGC's 31 October 2004 at the MRSSA Annual Spaniel Olympics / CGC test!  Good dogs!

Tracy and Briggs do the going for a walk exercise

Why does it look like we're tipping over?
Getting Ready to do the stay and recall... the tension mounts! What's up with the guy in the background?  What does he think is so funny?!
What a GOOD STAY from a little boy! And still the guy in the back is cracking up...
Stella's turn! Such a good baby puppy dog!  Good stay!!
And Stella does a gorgeous and speedy recall! VROOOM!
This is actually Stella earning the Bronze
(3rd place) in the costume contest!
She's dressed as a quail!
This is a game of tug-a-war with all puppies verses big brother Briggs!  Go Briggs!

18 August 2004

(Yes, there are 4 puppies, but the 4th one had a bit of "business" to attend to as soon as I brought out the camera.  Just trust that all 4 were playing just before I got  my camera out)

We have great hopes for our new baby boy, Briggs!
He already loves to do birds, loves to retrieve, and loves to please!

Here he is on 8 August working in the field for his first time as a Pacific Northwestern Dog!

Some photos from field work back at BlueMoon!

Back at his new home, Briggs has become everyone's best friend

Especially Jerome, who loves having a big brother!

This is a "pre-pounce" moment!

Here, Briggs shows the puppies how to play with the new pool!

And here, Briggs and Stella have a discussion about whose chewie that really is.
  (It is Briggs')  Frogdog!

He's also - let's face it - just flat-out a Handsome Hunk of Man DogTM!

And his baby photo
